Azuki launches Web3’s first-ever mooncake collaboration with K11

MMM DD YYYYWORDS BY CHERIE AU

In celebration of the upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival on 29 September, Azuki has collaborated with K11 and Founder Adrian Cheng’s Web3 persona, ‘LastKnight’, to create some Web3-inspired (physical, actually edible) mooncakes.

These one-of-a-kind delicacies are inspired by Azuki’s latest Elementals collection that span across the four Domains of the Garden, and “infused with the properties of fire, water, earth, and lightning to bring joy, happiness, and unity to you and your loved ones.”

The “Story” of the Elementals

The K11 x Azuki Mooncake Gift Set is designed as a collection of “books” that depict the tales of each Elemental: The Era of Earth, The Fables of Fire, The Legend of Lightning, and The Words of Water.

Featuring the spirit animals that correlate with each element — the fire fox, water frog, earth sloth, and lightning cat — each set contains six mooncakes in five flavours, with several stamped in a symbol reflecting each element. A lenticular compliments card featuring all four animals and their elements also comes with each gift set.

Flavours include:

  • 1 x Mini Caramel Coffee Custard Mooncake with Sea Salt
  • 1 x Mini Red Bean Paste Mooncake with Mandarin Peel
  • 1 x Mini Yoghurt Custard Mooncake with Strawberry
  • 1 x Mini Earl Grey Tea Custard Mooncake
  • 2 x Mini Egg Custard Mooncake

Pushing the boundaries of storytelling

The second collaboration between K11 and Azuki (the first being the reveal and showcase of the Proof of Skate back in November of 2022) this mooncake launch is a continuation of Azuki and K11 working together to offer more online to offline experiences that blur the physical with the digital.

Pre-order starts 1 August 2023 via K11 ESHOP on the ‘K11 HK’ Mobile App and K11 Design Store — available to Hong Kong residents only.
